NEW LIFE
Allan Opperud received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in the spring of 1971 while attending the University of Minnesota, Crookston. Shortly after being born again, he received the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.
Allan’s love and desire for God caused him to study the Bible for the next five years very intensely. From this desire grew a deepening love for the body of Christ and the understanding that he was called by God to teach the truth of God’s Word.
Debbie was born again at the age of 17, and received the infilling of the Holy Spirit at 19. She would share her faith and love for the Lord with all who would listen. High school became her first mission field. She learned early in her Christian walk the value of ministering to the Lord in praise and worship.
DEVELOPMENT
In 1974, Allan was actively teaching the word of God in local churches, fellowship meetings and home Bible study groups wherever the doors would open, sometimes driving miles to other cities and states.
Debbie was active in music and children’s ministry in her local church. She also would minister in music at other churches as the doors would open.
Allan and Debbie met at a fellowship meeting that she attended and he was invited to teach at. They both became very active in the outreach ministry of the fellowship group, witnessing for the Lord Jesus Christ.
In 1978, Allan and Debbie married and remained active in the ministry of helps in the local church.
In response to the call of God on their lives, Allan and Debbie attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
MINISTRY
After graduating in 1979 and 1980, they returned to northern Minnesota where they worked in the ministry of helps in the local church. They pioneered and were pastors of a church for 3 years.
In 1987 the Opperud’s, now a family of six, moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and began to attend and work in a local church.
Allan was a Bible School instructor for 17-years and Debbie taught in the children’s ministry for 15 years.
Deb is a state certified preschool teacher with over 25 years of experience. She is an excellent teacher on the subject of raising children to love and honor the Lord, and on ministering to children.
Allan was ordained in 1982 and has over 30 years of ministry experience. He is a member of AFCM and RAA. He is an anointed teacher and preacher who flows freely in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He teaches on many subjects of concern to the body of Christ, including Walking in Love and Developing Good Christian Character.
AROMinistries was started in 1996. Allan has been doing work in Asia since 1999.
Deb and Allan have lived in Asia since 2005 working in schools with age groups from 16 years old to 68 building relationships.
They also work with a foster home helping the orphans of Asia and an elderly home helping the elderly.
